My first watercolor award was Take a Bite! a still life of fruit and one of my favorite pottery pitchers. It won in the Arts International show, El Paso, October 2014.
An interesting point on this painting is that I felt I had overworked it, and that it was a failure. I then read advice on continuing to work on paintings, it can’t hurt and it might make them better, and so I did. And then entered it in the show….

Before watercolor and bead embroidery , I was enamored with beeswax collage, done with papers, found items, oil pastels and beeswax. This piece won 2nd place in the 2005 Colors of Spring show hosted by the El Paso Art Association.
