This was my second take on painting this cactus bloom. It is really a walking stick or Cholla bloom, not prickly pear as I referred to it in day 19 which was my first attempt. I like the transparency of this attempt, but a lot of you liked the first version:

I like the petal brightness (saturation) of the top one, and the central dark values of the second one.

The delicate petal edge against the dark green in the first version you painted catches my eye. What will the third version be? LOL

Impossible to choose one when I like them both…the sun is shining on one in a different place from where it shines on the other one.
Lovely! I like that one is medium and the other is bigger. It depends on where you would put it.
I’d frame them both if I were doing it.

I prefer the top one. It has some beautifully delicate edges and the purple is prettier.
