I set up a still life of a dried up pomegranate, a yucca seedpod and three pods from a desert tree, but right now, I’m not sure what species it is. Here’s the still life set up I’m working from.

I think the seed pods were successful, Love the shadow on the top left, I like the pod on the right, not sure about the left one. I need some more definition in the pomegranate seeds, I think, but not sure how to.
The yucca seed is fabulous. I’m so glad you did it separately, you could frame that little piece – it’s a mini masterpiece.

Thank you! which one do you like better? I can’t make up my mind, I think they’re both good, love the shadow in the top left, but I know the second one I did was easier for me (bottom right) so to me it looks fresher, but I don’t know if that’s really how it looks, or if it’s just because I know the background?

These are jouicy and loose – very attractive. Can you use clear water and a small round brush to lift some of the color to give an impression of pomegranite seeds?

Thank you Linda! I was trying that while it was damp, and of course, I should do it now that it’s dry to make clearer defined shapes. THANK YOU!
